From 6 to 8 November 2024, the Eurotowns members gathered in Sabadell, Spain, for their annual General Assembly.
The current flood disaster in Spain was one of the factors that affected the debates and exchange of ideas between the cities. To provide a platform to discuss the topic of civil protection and crisis management, the GA decided to a form a new Task Team dealing with this issue. In addition, a meeting of the political representatives of the member cities within the Strategic Policy Group format took place, which created new impetus in the areas of representation of the interests of medium-sized cities at EU level as well as the strategies to recruit new members, especially in EU countries which are currently underrepresented.
A warm thanks again to all participants of the GA 2024, and in particular to the city of Sabadell that proved to be an excellent host of the event.
