Mobility Task team meeting in Kortrijk

Next January 22,23 the City of  Kortrijk will host the first meeting in 2013 for the Mobility Task Team. The basics are: exchange of knowledge, learn to know each other, define common needs/wishes and work together on solutions.

At the meeting will attend representative from Hasselt (coordinator of the Task Team), Kortrijk, Eskilstuna, Manresa. For the first time with Eurotowns The Municipality of Aubagne and Tallinn invited, will attend the meeting and will bring new contribution and the task team.

Future meeting are scheduled in Manresa (18/19 March) and Gavle (27 May)

Introduction local mobility policy by Kortrijk Mobility Managers, including site visit. Focusing on safe and secure mobility around schools (best practices and other experiences in many ways, from campaigns, over education to infrastructure).

Wednesday 23rd January

h: 9:00 Brain storm on new ways of public and smart transport and methods to stimulate the use of public and or smart transport systems.

Moderated by Ivo Cré, Project Manager POLIS* (Before joining POLIS, Ivo was Policy Officer for mobility at EUROCITIES. Prior to that, he worked as assistant to a Member of the European Parliament, advisor and private secretary to the Belgian Minister of Environment, and as project leader at Langzaam Verkeer. He has been involved in a wide range of European transport projects and also coordinates the Polis Working Group on Social and Economic aspects of transport, where parking issues are high on the agenda. * = Polis is a network of European cities and regions working together to develop innovative technologies and policies for local transport. Right now they are running a project Tide. ‘The TIDE project invites you to suggest and prioritise innovative measures in the field of pricing, non-motorised modes, advanced traffic management for traveller information systems, electric mobility and public transport organisation’.
