Light in the city in Eskilstuna

The City of Eskilstuna and the City of Jyväskylä have the great pleasure to invite you to “Light in the City”, an international lighting branch conference organized in the framework of the Light in the City project, funded by the EU programme “Europe for Citizens”. The conference takes place from Thursday the 23rd to the Saturday the 25th October 2014 in Eskilstuna, Sweden.

The purpose of the event is to give Eskilstuna and the region the opportunity to share and reflect on their experiences on urban lighting, with a special focus on sustainability. Municipal decision-makers, officials, experts, organizations and others working in the lighting field are invited to attend this event which is also aimed at providing participants with a good networking and learning opportunity.


One of the highlights of the event will be a special “Nordic Light” session (Saturday the 25th) offering an up-close-and personal look at Nordic light art. Other highlights will include Guerrilla Lighting event (Friday the 24th), which will challenge residents to get involved in the development of urban lighting, and Eskilstuna´s new light festival called “Nattljus“, which will light up the city with several temporary and new permanent light installations.
