The Municipality of Reggio Emilia is looking for participants for an Erasmus+ project proposal under the strand Not for Profit Sport Events, objective “promote voluntary activities in sport, together with social inclusion, equal opportunities and awareness of the importance of health-enhancing physical activity, through increased participation in, and equal access to sport for all”.
Reggio Emilia will present an event on the International Sport Games of Tricolore, which should take place in Reggio Emilia next year, between 25th August and 1st September 2015. During this event, young athletes aged 11-17 from all over Europe and beyond challenge themselves in several sport disciplines, as during Olympic Games. The project, will cover not only the main event (sport competitions), but the entire period from the preparation to the follow up, for a duration of one year (January-December 2015).
The main project theme will consider sport as a key element for the education, dialogue among different cultures and generations, social inclusion, individual and collective wellbeing, people’s health. Considering these themes, it is important to underline that the event will be linked to Expo 2015, whose theme is Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life (http://www.expo2015.org/en/index.html), in order to contribute to the international debate on these global challanges. Besides competitions and opening and closing cerimonies, the project will feature also other activities such as trainings, a research on lifestyles, bringing to the production of a multimedia product and a contest, international events on the relation among sport, sustainability and healthy food, innovative communication, dissemination and awareness-raising actions, etc.
