Eurotowns member Girona is the winner of the Europe Prize 2016

Eurotowns congretulates Girona for winning the Europe Prize of 2016. This prize is awarded by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) each year since 1955. It honours towns that are most active in promoting the European ideal.

The award ceremony took place on 08th July and was a great success.

Girona received the award because of its many initiatives which demonstrate its strong commitment to Europe. Girona also received the Flag of Honour in 1984 and the Plaque of Honour in 2013.

The prize consists of a trophy, a medal, a diploma and a scholarship of 10.000€ to be spent on a study visit to European institutions for young people from Girona.
